Plaitime was created when its founder, Yana Carr, wasn’t able to find a braiding hair color that matched her hair in beauty supply stores. For years, under the moniker @goldynaps, Yana has been creating textured hair content that is fun and expressive, but when it came to braided styles her hair color was always an obstacle. At first, she used blonde shades that didn’t match before eventually figuring out how to blend the perfect color herself. But the blending process was long, tedious, and somewhat wasteful, requiring multiple shades and packs of hair to get the color just right. 

For the brand’s first launch, she has developed a shade that perfectly matches her own, so that everyone can get the perfect Black Girl Blonde (#BGB) without the hassle of blending.
